Question 1

Is it free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, up to 10 bottles, with no time limit and no credit card. Beyond that, you need Plus.

Question 2

Where is my data stored?

Accepted Answer

Your cellar is stored in a database hosted in Europe.

Question 3

Can I import the cellar I already keep?

Accepted Answer

Yes, from a spreadsheet (CSV) or from another cellar app's PDF export. Before anything is added, you see every row and fix what's wrong.

Question 4

Can I stop Plus whenever I want?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You cancel from My account, with no commitment.

Question 5

How does the label scan work?

Accepted Answer

When you add a bottle, tap “Scan the label” and take the photo. Bouchons reads the estate, appellation and vintage, and fills in the form. It then adds suggestions marked “Suggested”: grapes, drinking window, how the wine will evolve, food pairings. Change whatever you like before saving; your edits are never overwritten. Each scan counts as one analysis: the free plan includes a number of them every month (see the Pricing page), and Plus makes them unlimited.

Question 6

What happens to the photo of my label?

Accepted Answer

It is stored privately in Europe, and only you can see it. It is sent to Anthropic, the AI provider, only to be analysed. It is deleted with the wine, or with your account. If you scan a label without saving the bottle, the photo is deleted after 7 days.

Question 7

How does an import work?

Accepted Answer

In “Import my cellar”, pick the source: “Spreadsheet (CSV)”, starting from our template, or another cellar app's PDF export. Bouchons reads the file, then shows you every wine before adding it: you fix a field, untick a wine, and decide what to do with a wine you already have. For a PDF export, the list of wines (never your name) is sent to Anthropic, the AI provider, to split each name into estate, cuvée and appellation. This reading doesn't use your monthly analyses, and the file isn't kept.
